| Mage: the Awakening Path Quiz Your Result: Thyrsus You're a Thyrsus, a shaman, awakened to the watchtower of the stone book, in the realm of the primal wild, abode of beasts. You hold mastery over the Life and Spirit arcanum. | | Mastigos | | | Acanthus | | | Obrimos | | | Moros | | Mage: the Awakening Path Quiz See All Our Quizzes | | | Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 | | 11:35 am |
Your Score: Nemesis 33% Extroversion, 66% Intuition, 72% Emotiveness, 33% Perceptiveness You are a normally quiet person with very strong convictions and a marked activist streak. You have a clearly defined sense of right and wrong, and you like seeing people punished for their transgressions. You are Nemesis, goddess of punishment. You are a champion for the defenseless, you love poetic justice and, if karmic retribution doesn't have its say, then you'll have yours. You are astute, rarely fooled, and idealistic.
Your defining characteristic is your internal and inflexible system of morals. Because of your highly intuitive nature, you possess the theoretical nature required to define those morals, but you sometimes lack the ability to verbalize and expound on them, especially on the more nuanced parts of your worldview. Regardless, you have strong instincts which often prove to be correct, and rather than preaching, you act on them. You don't compromise -- ever.
You can sometimes be a person of great internal stress. You don't have double standards, and so you expect the same of yourself as you expect of others. You might find, sometimes, that you have just as hard of a time in living up to those expectations as the people around you. As a result, you are rarely at peace with yourself, but you're also likely to think of this in a positive light -- you're always forcing yourself to improve, and you avoid making mistakes.
You tend to be a private person, and don't like to talk much about those staunch morals of yours until, that is, they become violated. Once that happens, everyone is going to know exactly where you stand. You have a distaste of nihilism and intellectual relativism that will make you naturally compatible with scientists and certain kinds of philosophers, even if they don't share your activist streak.
Famous People like you: Goethe, Voltaire, Susan B. Anthony, Robert Burns
Similar Personality Types: Prometheus, The Oracle, Hermes, Orpheus
Avoid: Icarus, Dionysus, Agamemnon, Atlas
You may or may not be able to get along with an Odysseus -- it will depend on his/her upbringing.

Take the quiz: What is your Inner Dragon (neat pictures)
Blue Dragon If there ever was a draconic example of a supple attitude, your Inner Dragon is it. Blues are the Water Elemental dragon - typified by their Steam breath weapon. Pretty creative, huh? It goes right along with your Inner Dragon's tendency to maim, but not destroy.Humans shouldn't make the idiot mistake of thinking you're weak, however. The element of surprise and limited magic capabilities are definitely yours. You also enjoy communicating with aquatic life-forms.Your favorable attributes are the sunset, Autumn, water, compassion, peace, forgiveness, love, intuition, and calmness.

I wonder if moving here was a mistake The realization has just hit me in the last few days that I may not have any of my old college friends left. And it depresses the hell out of me. When I first moved up here, it was to be close to my friends from college. And yet, in the nearly year since I've moved up here, NONE of my friends have ever dropped by to visit, even though I have my address on facebook. It's like now that I'm out of college, I don't even matter anymore. And the times I tried to go to their places, nobody was home. I don't even know what I'm doing here anymore. If it wasn't for my weekend RPG group, I wouldn't have any human contact at all - and I'm grateful to them for that, but for some reason I still don't feel comfortable going to their places. I wonder if I should clear out my friends list nowadays, consdering how little I'm visited or even talked to by some of these people. I just don't know anymore. Another meme Go to http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 and look through the quotations until you find five that you think reflect who you are or what you believe. Repost in your journal and tag five friends. Ok, I'm cheating - I'm doing ten. I just love quotes. 1. "The 'Net is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it." - William Gibson (father of the cyberpunk genre; author of "Neuromancer" and "Johnny Mnemonic," among others) 2. "It's being here now that's important. There's no past and there's no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can't relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don't know if there is one." -George Harrison 3. "All great lovers are articulate, and verbal seduction is the surest road to actual seduction." -Marya Mannes (And on that note, time for me to go get laid :-p jk) 4. "She is not perfect. You are not perfect. The question is whether or not you are perfect for each other." -Robin Williams, "Good Will Hunting" 5. "As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." -H. L. Mencken (That wasn't a quote, THAT WAS PROPHECY!) 6. "The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair; and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater." -J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Fellowship of the Ring" 7. "Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have." -Louis E. Boone 8. "Defining and analyzing humor is a pastime of humorless people." -Robert Benchley 9. "A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side." -Aristotle (Another VERY prophetic statement) 10. "Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time." -Terry Pratchett, "Hogfather" | | Wednesday, August 16th, 2006 | | 10:31 pm |
Five years. FIVE FUCKING YEARS That's all my friend's life was worth... If you're lost, read this entry from three years ago: http://centralvampire.livejournal.com/10885.htmlSo today I google her name because I got to thinking about her, and I come across a series of post on a message board that Dani and her husband were members of. The guy that killed her - hit her car while drunk off his worthless ass - only got five years in jail. FIVE YEARS FOR ENDING MY FRIEND'S LIFE. There is no justice in this world. I give up on the thought of justice coming from our "justice system." The cops don't give a shit, the courts give slaps on the wrist for ENDING SOMEONE'S LIFE... Fuck it all. Under stress I feel stressed out right now. I get an e-mail from CMU saying that the payment on my account is past due (I pay $15 a month for my cmich e-mail address). Which it is - because I need every damn dollar I have for everything else. The only reason I've held onto the damn account for so long is because I felt I needed it - and I'm just now realizing I don't. And this delayed reaction of realization is costing me $67! I could have used that for rent money that I desperately need! Now I'm kicking myself for my mistake, cursing my idiocy at handling money. I feel really damn stupid right now. My brain is SCREWY (more dreams) I swear my brain is bi-polar.
I go from a VERY nice (and rather...arousing :-D) dream two nights ago, to having a dream right out of Resident Evil last night - with me as the scared-shitless civilian running from zombies and popping off a few panicked shots at the relentless slow-moving evil guy behind me.
I wish there was a way to control at least the TYPES of dreams I had. | | Tuesday, August 1st, 2006 | | 9:02 pm |
I realized something today I just realized something today:
After five months of being single, I'm ready to start dating again.
The five months gave me some nice recuperative time from my last relationship, but I'm ready to get back out there.
And I'm feeling pretty good about that :) | | 2:14 pm |
You know what really sucks? Waking up from a really good dream JUST as the best part's about to happen.
Damn you brain! | | Thursday, July 27th, 2006 | | 1:21 pm |
Damn you singlehood! Factor 1: I'm single and therefore without a girlfriend Factor 2: I'm watching a "Game Makers" episode about the "Dead or Alive" series of games, which feature INCREDIBLY hot and usually scantily-clad women fighters. Put them together: BAD FRICKIN' COMBINATION! Current Mood: horny | | Wednesday, July 26th, 2006 | | 5:18 pm |
Call me curious :-D - another meme (yoinked from elsewhere) Comment with your name and people can comment, anonymously or otherwise, if they have a crush on you and why.
