Good news and bad news
First the bad news, since I wanna get it out of the way first. I hear a commercial on the radio about a Charater deal that would give me DIGITAL cable and hi-speed internet for about $70. So I go to the Charter office to ask them about it. What do they say? "No, we can't let you have it because you're an existing customer." Great. Apparently the cable industry's policy is "Let's gyp our long-time paying customers out of money because we can." Stupid jerks. Now, the good news: Though my job has it's tough times (long meeting times and writer's block being two of them), sometimes fringe benefits come along that make it more worthwhile. Fringe benefits like sitting next to the REALLY cute girl from CMU (who's interning at the Clare County Review) during meetings that we're both covering and striking up a conversation with her :-D | | Friday, July 14th, 2006 | | 2:01 pm |

One of the coolest things I have ever seen
My parking lot is filled with ankle-deep rain water. It's so cool to watch. Anytime we get a decent rain, the sewer drain can't hold it and usually floods a bit, but it hasn't stopped raining for a good four hours plus the rainfall was heavy for a good hour or so, and as a result the lot is FLOODED. It's so cool. When I was heading back into my apartment, a car drove through the water. I was staring down at the wheelchair ramp (the depression in the sidewalk where it lowers to the street level) as the ripples from that car driving by hit it, and I swear it looked like the tide coming in on a beach. This is one of the reasons I love it when it rains :) Current Mood: enthralled | | Saturday, July 8th, 2006 | | 3:17 pm |
A bash.org quote that was too funny to pass up
* Kederaji is now officially offended by the Red Cross. FraX: How much blood did they want today? Kederaji: Well, you know that questionnaire they ask you before they poke you with the needle? Frax: Yeah. Kederaji: Well, the guy took a look at me and started marking all the sex related questions as "No". Kederaji: Didn't even bother to ask me, just marked them "No." Kederaji: The bastard. FraX: Was he right? Kederaji: He was, but that's not the point! | | Friday, July 7th, 2006 | | 2:40 am |

Awesome night
Ah, tonight was awesome :) Had a good time at Werewolf (even though my character didn't get to really fight anything), but the Shoney's after-game thing was even better. Had some great conversations, plus got to drive two friends home (and find out they live in the complex RIGHT NEXT TO MINE!) 'Twas a good night :) | | Friday, June 23rd, 2006 | | 10:44 am |

Happy Birthday to me!
I am officially 24 years old. Older, wiser, and all that stuff, supposedly. And yet, here I am, at this moment, laughing at a Beavis and Butthead DVD commercial :-p Guess some things don't change with age :-D Edit: Some various things I found today: My birthday horoscope from TV Guide: "A Mars-Saturn union on your birthday is both a cause for concern and for celebration. On the one hand you must take extra care about what you say because your words could be misinterpreted. On the other hand you will be rewarded in some way for the thought and effort you have put in to making your world a more pleasant environment. Now you can sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labors -- no one deserves them more." Second, the "Thought for the Day" from Yahoo News: Thought for Today: "The way of a superior man is threefold; virtuous, he is free from anxieties; wise, he is free from perplexities; bold, he is free from fear." - Confucius, Chinese philosopher (551-479 B.C.). And today's Chinese proverb from horoscope.com: "The tide must reach its lowest before it turns." | | 12:12 am |
This should be a COINED PHRASE my gf supposedly has "issues" with me Heh, my ex didn't have just a few issues, she had a fuckin *Subscription*
A quote from bash.org. A very clever quote, in my opinion, that oughta make it into common usage someday. | | Saturday, June 17th, 2006 | | 3:33 pm |
How far some people will go for work... http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/mstoll1.html?link=rssfeed"Matthew Toll is in his final year at the Tulane University School of Law and, like many fellow students approaching graduation, is seeking an associate's position paying at least $70,000 per year. The 25-year-old, though, has taken a unique approach to that hunt." ... "Toll promised prospective employers that, "If my mother's funeral was the day of a key deposition, I would do the eulogy via teleconference after the deposition." And if his wedding was on the date of a key trial, "the wedding would be postponed. If the wife to be did not like it, I would inform her that work comes before EVERYTHING ELSE and that if she does not like this, she is free to find a competing husband."" ... "As word of his letter ricocheted through the legal community this week, Toll began receiving phone messages and e-mails offering criticism and job interviews. While Toll said the "vast majority" of the feedback has been negative, "I don't care if everybody hates me, I only have to get one job."" Sad, sad, sad... | | Thursday, June 15th, 2006 | | 4:59 pm |
Bored bored bored
Yes, I am bored. There's been a dry spell of news stories this week. There WOULDN'T be, except for the fact that NOBODY seems able to PICK UP THEIR PHONES! Therefore, I can't set up interviews to do stories and therefore, I make less money. 'Tis teh suck, truly. Had a fairly good weekend (last weekend). Two RPG nights. The Werewolf night didn't go quite as well as I hoped (I was hoping that my character would depose our incompetant pack Beta, but he lost by a final score of 3-2 in a best out of five contest), but the new baddies in this story are right up my character's alley (evil spirits), so I'm looking forward to future sessions. It's gonna be a boring weekend this weekend. No games, and nothing else going on, so...boring time. I'll be 24 this Sunday - and unfortunately, I got nothing planned :( So that's about it here. | | Monday, June 12th, 2006 | | 2:13 pm |

You Are Iceman
|

You tried to live a normal life, but it just wasn't possible
A bit of a slacker, you rather tell jokes than cultivate your powers
Powers: turning self and others into ice, making ice weapons, becoming nearly invisible

Reason number 47 why I'm glad Kat and I broke up
"To be honest the hottest thing on a guy is a fat wallet, call me shallow but it's true." -Said by my ex-girlfriend Kat (the one I broke up with in February) on a message board that we both frequent. I swear, the more she posts nowadays, the more happy I am that that relationship didn't work out. | | Wednesday, May 24th, 2006 | | 11:00 pm |
Guessing game!
Step 1 - Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/etc. that you've had an obsessive fannish love of at some time in your life.
